I’m not just the owner of Blue Dasher Crafts, I’m a real person too! There’s a lot more to me than just the business, so this post is all about me. Here are 12 things you probably don’t know about me.
12 Things You Don’t Know About Me
1) I tend to be a rather eccentric individual. I’m more of an introverted loner than an extrovert people person. Although I’m good with people, and can get along with just about anyone, I’m much prefer the solitude of my own home and family. I could very easily become a recluse if I didn’t have to work outside the home or run errands like grocery shopping etc.
2) I love crafting, especially crochet, cross stitch, jewelry making and scrapbooking. Unfortunately, I haven’t scrapped in a couple of years, mainly because I haven’t had the time or the money, so I’m a bit behind. Cross stitch and crochet are my two favorite crafts. I find them very relaxing, and I love watching a piece take shape as I crochet away!
3) I love the eyeball. You probably know this one too because I spent so many years in ophthalmology. But you may not know that the first thing I’ll notice about someone is whether or not they have a muscle deviation (if their eyes are crossed), or any other ocular abnormality. Whenever I look at someone’s eyes, my brain automatically goes into observation mode and I notice things like the “hills and valleys” in their iris muscles, their pupil size, the lenses in their glasses which can tell me if they’re nearsighted or farsighted. It’s an occupational hazard I guess. Oh, and I’m a sucker for blue eyes. Yes, my husband has blue eyes. Continue reading “12 Things You Don’t Know About Me”
Ya right… But we’re much more organized than we were previously!! We have gotten rid of so much crap, it’s not even funny.
We seriously were contenders for the show Hoarders.
I love that show!
Do you know how good it feels to get rid of crap that you no longer need, use, or even want? OMG! It’s really a wonder I could write anything at all as cluttered as it was in here!
We got rid of so much stuff that I was able to shampoo the carpets! (We have 5 cats… that’s a big deal).
We do still have a bunch of crap to go through, like the junk in our bedroom closet, Greg’s desk (don’t even get me started), and the pile of “trash” on our living room wall needs to be sorted through again just to be sure we didn’t miss anything to donate, or throw out.
As for our inspection… I was worried for absolutely no reason. See this is the problem with text messaging. Things can easily be misconstrued because there’s no voice inflections, etc. That goes for anything written, which is why really good writers are so hard to find. It’s hard to convey the tone of voice in which you’re writing (“speaking”) and text messages are no different. This inspection thing is the perfect example of that.
Today is our last day to get lots of cleaning done before the inspection tomorrow at 12:00pm.
I can’t wait till this is over!
We’ve taken this week off of homeschooling in order to get all the cleaning and repairs done. I also haven’t been writing as much, except for on this blog, and my most recent posts haven’t been some of my best work.
I’m a bit distracted.
There’s still so much to do, and so little time. We’ve made a lot of progress, but there’s still so much clutter. I’m sure we won’t get through it all before tomorrow, but I’m hoping to at least get all the cleaning done. I started the bedroom at about 04:00am; it looks better, but it’s still pretty cluttered.
See, there’s plenty of clutter left. I’m just so tired of cleaning! UGH!!!!
I was supposed to write a post about my car today, that Julie DeNeen inspired by her post yesterday.
But with the impending inspection coming up, we’ve been cleaning the hell out of the house.
I’m so tired…
While we’re cleaning, we’re also going through our stuff and getting rid of the junk. I still really want to be a minimalist. We started this process yesterday, ironically on April Fool’s day. We have several boxes, garbage bags and a porch full of all the junk we’re throwing out.
SO MUCH JUNK!!
That’s not even all of it. Most of this stuff is from the shed. Plus there’s a bunch of furniture on the porch that we want to throw out. Our Waste Management company doesn’t offer the dumpster service out here, so we’re not sure how we’re going to get rid of all of it. But we have to before Friday.
